Zoe-perry

Perry was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). Two of her earliest television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the role. The actress did not go on to pursue acting as a career until after she had reached adulthood because her parents were worried about the detrimental effects that stress could have. Perry she was shy for acting in high school, started to act in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. Perry was able to land minor TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. Homesickness, however, led her to California to return, where she started working in the stage. Perry starred with her mother in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. She appeared in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie, along with Kevin McKidd. This was staged in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry played a part in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. She had a regular role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. That same year she was cast as a young model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young version of her mother's role. The role was offered to her by auditioning for an open role despite being a fan of the character.
