Pickler lived in a difficult environment. At the age of two the mother of her fled from an abusive relationship. Then she returned to Pickler's life in 1995 and was given custody of her. But it wasn't a good experience. Pickler returned to her grandparents at twelve years old. Her grandparents brought her through to adulthood. Since she was not with her parents, Pickler became too busy caring for her siblings. Pickler admitted she didn't have time to go to school and began learning to be a domestic worker from an early age. Pickler had been a cheerleader in both middle school and her high school. North Stanly High School graduated her in 2004. Pickler attempted to make a name for herself as a model. She once held the title of Miss Stanly County.
