Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid was born in Vietnam and also has Chinese roots, but her father Winston Barrett Munn comes from an American family. Olivia's parents divorced when she was two years old, and she was raised by her father and stepfather who was who was a part of the United States Air Force. They left Oklahoma, and lived in several places, but she spent the bulk of her time in Tokyo. During this time, she appeared in various local theater productions and later was a model in the Japanese fashion industry. Olivia relocated her home to Los Angeles after the family's returning to America. United States. She pursued her dream of being an actress. Olivia's acting career took off following a few small role. She landed the part of Mily in the Hawaii-lensed series Beyond the Break (2005) as well as the role of receptionist in the film Big Stan starring Rob Schneider in Big Stan (2006). She is the host of G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" as well as "Formula D". She is a fan of surfing, something she has been practicing since the TV show Beyond the Break (2006). Black belts are hers in the martial art of taekwondo. At the age of two, her mom got married once more however this time to a US Air Force member. Despite the fact that the family moved a frequently, her mother raised her primarily in Tokyo which she shared within the military. She attended her at University of Oklahoma where she was a journalism major with minors in Japanese and drama art.
