Silk was born in Fredericton located in New Brunswick Canada. Silk is the daughter of Peter who was an academic and Ilkay Silk, a prominent actress, director, producer, educator, playwright as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna recalls her mother's work and attending play rehearsals. Silk appeared in several commercials when she was a kid. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two productions in the beginning: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career when she moved to Toronto, Canada, at the end of November in 1999. After that, she relocated to Los Angeles for the remainder of that decade. Seth Cooperman was her future partner when she was introduced to him during an acting workshop located in Los Angeles. They got married at the civil ceremony on the 10th of December 2009, after becoming engaged. When she converted to Judaism and they renewed their wedding vows at a Jewish ceremony on the 10th of April 2011.
