Silk was born Silk was born in Fredericton (New Brunswick), Canada. Ilkay Silk was a well-known actor, director and producer and also a professor in St. Thomas University. On April 10, 2011 the couple renewed their vows during the context of a Jewish ceremony held in Fredericton following her conversion to Judaism.
