Silk was born Silk was born in Fredericton (New Brunswick), Canada. Ilkay is the mother of Peter who is an educator as well as an actor and playwright who is a top performer. Peter was educated at St. Thomas University. Anna has some of her earliest memories of watching and going to play rehearsals. Silk produced a number of commercials when she was a child. She completed her studies at St. Thomas University with the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Her early theater experience has included at least two productions at Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto in 1999 to Los Angeles in the decade following 1999. Seth Cooperman met Silk at an Actors Workshop held in Los Angeles in 2007. They got married at a civil ceremony on December 10, 2009 after they became engaged. They renewed their vows on the 10th of April in Fredericton at an Jewish service after she became a Jew.
